Nicotine is released by the tobacco fade. By inhalation it reaches the lungs, from where it is rapidly absorbed into the bloodstream and reaches the brain seconds later. The below-described effects of nicotine occur very quickly and can last from a single cigarette, up to half an hour. Nicotine stimulates the release of dopamine. A feeling of comfort and elation is triggered. It also released norepinephrine is stimulating and can increase the concentration.
